Abstract

This article aims to analyze the approach of two authors, Javier Hervada and Eric Voegelin, on natural law and its ontological foundations. It is about revealing the complementarity of their outlooks, as well as the similarities of the criticism they make to normativist positivism. Both authors agree in affirming the link of the law with a teleological order that has a normative nature and it allows, from that point of view, to overcome the deficiencies of some proposals disseminated in the contemporary legal field.
