Abstract

The theoretical commitment of Sergio Cotta dedicated to the justification of the legal rules is one of the most interesting places in the philosophy of the law of the end of the century in the convergence of analytical and natural law perspectives. The recent reprint of its main topic on the subject, Giustificazione e obbligatorietà delle norme, offers the opportunity to update its reflection on the obligatory nature of norms, which is consciously placed at the crossroads of the main legal philosophical themes and has long been the subject of the philosophical work of this author.
