Itinerarium mentis in Deum: a guided reading

Abstract

The work we are about to read has its own peculiarity from the beginning, due to the double way in which we can translate the Latin expression “in Deum”. It is a path that allows man to approach “God”, reaching the ecstatic joining in him, or, in some way, it is an itinerary that from the beginning moves “in God”, because he constitutes not only the goal, but also the horizon of meaning in which all creation moves? The different Italian translations of the text offer us both possibilities.
