Abstract

University is a decisive moment in overall development, where academic learning, personal and emotional skills are consolidated. In this context, a project was implemented to promote flourishing and personal growth of university students by strengthening five variables: flourishing, emotional intelligence, grit, mindfulness, and growth mindset. Through a virtual workshop based on mindfulness practices, a pre-experimental design was applied to a single group of 23 students from different faculties. The two month intervention included initial and final measurements using validated scales (PERMA, TMMS-24, Grit-O, Mindfulness Scale, and Growth Mindset Scale). Results showed overall improvements in the five variables studied, especially in positive emotions, general well-being, and emotional regulation. Females showed higher emotional sensitivity and mindfulness, while males highlighted effort and engagement. The observed trends confirm the potential of brief mindfulness-based interventions to promote self-awareness, self-regulation, and comprehensive development. The study highlights the importance of promoting personal growth programmes in the university setting.
